The British government said it will continue working closely with members of the European Union to impose and implement blacklists even as it outlined plans for new autonomous sanctions authorities after the United Kingdom exits the bloc. In a consultation paper, officials from the United Kingdom's foreign, treasury and trade ministries noted their currently limited authority to blacklist individuals and entities domestically, and said they aim to establish new legal powers to implement U.N. designations and impose "autonomous U.K. sanctions in coordination with our allies and partners."
