US Gamblers Look to Smaller Online Operations in Wake of Recent Crackdown

The U.S. government's crackdown on the world's largest online gaming operations this month has prompted American gamblers to place their bets elsewhere on the internet, with few signs of a long-term slowdown for the industry. The April 15 indictments of the heads of PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and Absolute Poker have resulted in a "bonanza for smaller, lesser known" online gambling operations, said Lawrence Walters, an attorney with the Altamonte Springs, FL-based Walters Law Group.
