The department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctioned Pyongyang-based Amroggang Development Bank for its ties to Tanchon Commercial Bank, a financial institution that has been sanctioned by the United States since June 2005. The agency also blacklisted Kim Tong Myong, Tanchon's president, for directing Amroggang under a pseudonym.
