U.K. Lawyers Met AML Regs Deadline, but Still Feel Burdened: Survey

Most U.K. lawyers have already adjusted their policies and procedures to comply with the country's latest Money Laundering Regulations, but are unhappy about the burden of the new requirements, according to an online survey by a British legal association. The Law Society of England and Wales said that, out of 197 responses to a survey of British lawyers, 95% of attorneys had complied within six months after the requirements went into effect in December. The regulations brought the U.K. in line with the Third European Money Laundering Directive, and mandated that attorneys check whether their clients are hiding dirty money....
