Senate Foreign Relations Committee Passes Bill to Sanction Corrupt Russians

A U.S. Senate committee voted Wednesday to grant the White House the power to impose sanctions on corrupt Russian officials and buoy Ukraine's economy through conditional loans. In a 14-3 vote, the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations approved the Support for the Sovereignty, Integrity, Democracy and Economic Stability of Ukraine Act of 2014, a measure that would allow President Obama to restrict when financial institutions can serve Russian and Ukrainians believed to have undermined protestors and Ukraine's territorial integrity.
