SEC May Revive List of Companies with Ties to States That ‘Sponsor Terrorism’

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission may reintroduce a controversial program to publish a list of companies with business dealings in countries that the U.S. says support terrorism. The SEC on November 16 asked for public comment on whether it should provide greater access to companies' disclosures of business ties with five countries on a U.S. State Department list of nations that sponsor terrorism: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan and Syria.
