FinCEN Should Communicate Better with Agencies on Aid: GAO

The United States' financial intelligence unit should better inform law enforcement agencies about when and how it can help financial crime investigators, a federal watchdog organization said Monday. The U.S. Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) should make its operations "more transparent" by informing law enforcement agencies about its products and services, and the circumstances under which it won't help investigators, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) said in a 44-page report.
