EU May Quash U.K.-Swiss Tax Agreement, Says Report

A tax data agreement between the U.K. and Switzerland is likely to be nixed by EU officials because it falls short of transparency measures adopted by other countries, an advocacy group said Monday. The two nations agreed to a plan in October that the London-based Tax Justice Network said in a report will fall far short of its stated goals of raising up to seven billion pounds in revenue and shining more daylight on British citizens who park money in the bank secrecy jurisdiction.
