Proposed Legislation Would Criminalize ‘Reverse’ Money Laundering

Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives are pushing an initiative that would criminalize "reverse" money laundering, or the transportation of large amounts of funds to help commit a crime, and the use of blank checks to help launder money. The bill, introduced July 24 by Kentucky Republican Geoff Davis, would prohibit using more than $10,000 in funds–legitimate or otherwise-to facilitate so-called specified unlawful activities, crimes used to establish money laundering cases.
